Evaluation

I can genuinely say that this project was something special. This was a positive and collaborative achievement that each member of the team should be proud of, and I am proud of each of them too. I believe on a more personal note that after the disastrous and controversial self-reflection I gave the last project, I have grown up a lot when it comes to acceptance of team collaboration and building up friendly foundations. Am I perfect yet? No, and I never will be, but I genuinely think that this time around there has been some really positive team collaboration, and this time I was incorporated into that, rather than trying to be beyond that at any point. This is a mindset that I am proud of change and something I want to continue to adapt to and become the better version of myself that I planned to be when moving down here. Contrary to what I expected approaching this project, I really enjoyed the quick turnaround that we had, which sure was stressful in the element, however, the outco...

Crypto News Documentation

Image
The idea for the cryptocurrency originally came from Harry, as both me and Adam were struggling with an idea to agree on. As the teams were still segregated into four teams at this point, as well as the run-up to Christmas caused a few team members to travel back home making them unavailable during this period,  it made the initial conversations quite difficult, but cryptocurrency was decided, now all we needed to do was get planning underway, roles assigned and find our lane. I thought from early on that it would important to create a shared folder, to which we could all upload our work, and it has been well utilised by every team member, making the entire process clear-cut as to who has completed what task. On top of that, our group chat on Whatsapp has been very active since day dot, making for communication that has been healthy and active between the team, open and honest to keep development honest and real. This distinguishable difference between talking and doing can be seen...

Shepards Neame Package

Image
I had so much fun doing this package, genuinely one of the best pieces of work that I have ever done. The culmination of teamwork was amazing, and the location and its history are just top-notch. I was behind the camera for this and this is some of my best work. Every shot was focused to a great degree and the ones that were out of focus are for the artistic effect. I also appreciated how enthusiastic Scott was, his willingness to be involved was uplifting and it gave us some good content. I decided against doing anything too fancy with this either as it was just a workshop practice and I wanted to invest all of that energy into the final piece. Once this was done and edited together I decided to upload it onto my main YouTube channel, as I wanted a larger audience to see this. Personally, this filming day alone feels like a main event that was made, the payoff was just that satisfying. What I did learn though was using the tripod was far higher quality for this style than using ...

News Package Analysis

Image
I decided to analyse a news package based around cryptocurrency from the BBC, as that is not only the topic for which we are creating our package but also the company style we are trying to replicate. Whilst looking through this however I found that there were a few things they do that are pretty efficient in terms of their storytelling, but also there are psychological elements that allow the BBC to exceed as a world-leading news company. Firstly there is the fact that the presenter is introducing a piece to the news package which is giving the audience an introductory perspective to the piece. Whilst we have not been asked to do this, it is interesting how this is done, segmenting the gap between the prior story and this one, it allows a surface-level story before a deeper delve into the intricacies of the stories that are being told. I've realised that the opening line is key for your introduction, no matter the news piece in which you are telling; it is slightly different compa...
